Pond Stabilization Project Update

To: All Homeowners and Tenants
From: Townhomes of Olde Grove - Board of Directors
Subject: Pond Stabilization Project
All,
This memo is to inform you that our Pond Stabilization project is finally set to begin. We have contracted with Encap, Inc., of Sycamore, IL, to complete this project. They will begin the initial stage of the project the week of July 1st and they estimate the job will take 3-4 weeks to complete (weather permitting); however, we will keep you informed of their progress. We have also contracted with Ted Gray, Living Waters Consultants, as our project manager/advisor. He will be a liaison between Encap and the TOG Board.
In the initial phase of the project, we will be removing trees and shrubs from the property as follows: Three trees from the Northwest side of the pond (on Westmoreland) will be removed to allow Encap access to the property. We will then be removing most of the trees on the west side of the pond, along with the shrubs at the waterline (on Deerbrook Ln). Finally, we will be removing two trees on the Northeast corner of the pond – the large cotton wood tree and the tree that has fallen into the pond, along with the shrubs at the waterline. Once we are finished with tree removal you will begin seeing Encap’s equipment and workmen arriving. Please be sure to keep away from all equipment and work zones during construction.
Construction will begin on the Deerbrook Lane side of the pond (beginning behind unit 389 and continuing north to unit 381); once that is complete, Encap will then proceed to the eastern most point of the project (beginning behind unit 368 and continuing northwest towards unit 352).
During this project, we will also be burying all of the black above-ground water downspout extensions. In order to do this, we will have to have the utility companies out to flag any buried equipment, cable or power lines.
Since we will have a number of workers on the property over the next 4 weeks, we ask everyone to make sure that the area in back of your townhouse, under your deck and around your property is cleared of any debris (i.e., old screen doors, plastic swimming pools, garden tools, hoses, etc.). We do not want any incidents of workmen tripping and falling over items left out. Patio furniture is fine to be left out.
You can follow the progress of the pond stabilization project at our new “Townhomes of Olde Grove” website: www.TOGnews.webnode.com. We will update you with photos and any notices of work delays on a regular basis. Also, our website is still “under construction” and any suggestions you have for improving the site can be sent to us via the “guestbook” page.
If you have any issues or questions during the project, please send an email to our Board President, Vikki Maynard, through the website’s “board members” page or contact her directly at vikkimaynard@yahoo.com.
Thank you all for your patience and cooperation during this project. Due to the nature of the project, it will be a bit messy and noisy during construction; however, we are confident the end result will be worth the short inconvenience to our community.
Thank you,
TOG Board of Directors
